"From Paris to Chile, Fleeing the Nazis"

oil on panel, 30"x22"
Chile was one of the few countries during the early days of World War 2, that let boats of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Europe in.
The Champs d'Elysee is being bombed by Nazi jets in the upper right, while a jewish women in a ball gown
is running toward a tiny escape boat, and again appears in a larger boat near the coast. The painting is an amalgamation
of a few stories I heard from Jewish friends in Chile of how their parents/relatives came to be there.
